Our New Summer Season has officially begun!

We hope everyone is settling into the early season schedules. Just a reminder we all move outdoors starting Monday @ Central Park. We have a very active season for all of our athletes this year. Below you will find important dates and information to help you plan your summers. We look forward to another fun and successful summer aquatics season.

May 15th Registration

Registration from 5-7pm at Central Park. Members of Our club's executive will also be available to answer any questions and highlight volunteer opportunities. Raffles tickets will also be distributed at this time. Families will also be able to sign-up for Gran Prix Meet duties at that time as well.

Barracudas Grand Prix Swim Meet

The Barracudas Grand Prix will be held at Central Park June 2, 3rd and 4th. We cannot make this event happen without the support and volunteer hours of our members. More about this event and how to sign-up for volunteer duties will sent in a separate newsletter by Monday.

Stroke and Turn Officials Training

Burnaby Barracudas is in great need for officials to help in our swim meets! Without officials, we cannot run nor participate in our swim meets!Being an official at a meet is a great way to earn volunteer hours!

Thanks to the families who have already signed-up for training!!

For the rest of you, we have lots of opportunities to be trained. Heather Stein (Coach Nathan's mom and Fina Official) is offering deck clinics to parents this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Central Park from 4:45- 6pm during the junior/ intermediate practice sessions . Just show up - no registration required.

May 21, 2017 Volunteer Coaches Training

BCSSA is hosting a "Volunteer Coaches Clinic" at Bonsor Pool from 7:30am - 3:00pm. This is a free course for any intermediate or senior swimmer looking to be trained as a coach. It consists of 5-6 hours classroom training and 1-2 hours in the pool. To register please email Angela atPresident@Burnabybarracudas.com.

SFU Start and Finish Camp

SFU Aquatics is hosting a "Start, Turn and Finish Camp" in July. More details can be found

Our Development Meet will be held on June 2nd @ Central Park


Water Polo

Water Polo is back at Central Park! For the duration of May enthusiastic, team oriented Barracuda athletes train Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at our beautiful Central Park Pool. Juniors (2004 and younger) practice from 7-8 PM; and Seniors (2005 and older) practice from 8-9 PM.

If you are interested in trying this fun team sport, or have any water polo related questions, please contact Stacey atwaterpolo@burnabybarracudas.comand come try a practice or two this May for free. Our first tournament is June 10th for our Junior athletes. See you at the pool!

Swim Meets

No Squamish meet this year - they are limiting it to clubs in the Vancouver District only this year. We'll offer a start and turn clinic at SFU that Saturday instead.

May 27th - Stroke and Turn Clinic @ SFU 10-11:30 & 11:30-1pm

June 3-4 Barracudas Grand Prix

June 10-11 - No meets but will we are in the process of setting up another technique clinic - still TBA

June 17-18 - Poco

June 24-25 - North Shore Winter Club or Ladner Sting Rays. I think Grace prefers the North short Winter club. we will do one or the other but not both.

July 1-2 PMA

July 8-9 North Van Cruisers

July 15-16 Vancouver Vikings

July 22-23 Coquitlam Sharks

Aug 4,5,6, Regionals @ Spani

18,19,20 Provincials @ kamloops
