Hello Parents,

Our season is in full swing and there are many updates to share with you.

We have a very exciting season ahead of us with many new opportunities for our swimmers, water polo players, and parents to take part in.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our clubs success is based on the efforts of our parent community. If we all do a little, we all enjoy the season. There is no shortage in regards to the volunteeropportunities. Our own Swim Meet and Water Polo tournaments require lots of parent support. Our Host Meet this year is on June 9th & 10th. Please mark your calendars and get involved. We will require volunteer help on June 8th for set up, June 9th and June 10th. Stay tuned for details regarding specific jobs and hours we will need to fill to successfully run our event.

Listed below are some opportunities for training available early in the season for volunteer positions that require some skill.


May 13th, 8:00am- 12:00pm Colorado/ Hytek Training @ Spani Pool Coquitlam

If you enjoy the technical aspects of running a meet this may be the position for you!

May 23rd, 7:00pm-9:30pm Stroke and Turn Clinc @ Snaptech 2465 Beta Ave Burnaby

Learn the proper strokes and guarantee yourself the best seat in the house during a meet!

This Clinic has been organized by the Burnaby Barracudas and we will provide coffee and treats!

May 31st, 7:00-9:30pm- Starter/Referee Clinic @ Jordans Boardroom, 5605 Byrne Rd. Burnaby

If you have been an Official and are interested in more this is the clinic for you!

Please keep in mind if you attend these clinics the hours spent in these meetings will be applied to your overall volunteer hours.

Swim Meets

May 27th, 2012: The first Meet of the season we are taking part in this year is the Squamish Pirates Invitational! Meet Package Information

June 9th & 10th: Burnaby Barracudas Grand Prix- Mark your calendars! Meet Package Information

Make sure you sign –up your children to take place in these Meets. If you have any questions feel free to discuss with your children’s coaches.

Hats Off To Burnaby Parade

June 2nd, 2012: This year we are excited to announce that we will be taking part in the Burnaby Hats Off Day Parade! Sign-up your children to participate in the parade and our Olympic Theme! We will need volunteers to walk with the children as well as help man our booth during the day. More details will be coming!

Advertising Opportunities/ Fundraiser

Over 500 eyes will be looking at your company’s brand! We are offering advertising opportunities on our Meet Program. Whether it’s your own company or a friends this is a great way to support our community and for our community to support us! Buy a full page ad for $400.00, half-page $250.00, a quarter page $100.00 and a business card size $50.00. For more information please contact Laura @


Registration is ongoing until the first week of July. If your child has been swimming and you have not registered your child this is a liability for the club. Please fill out all paper work and deliver to the pool ASAP! All forms can be printed here

Water Polo

Calling all swimmers! If your child loves team sports and enjoys the water have them come out and try the exciting game of water polo. Feel free to bring your child to any Water Polo practice and give it whirl!
